Mandira Bedi has ones again earned a thick controversy when she appeared on dealers meetting of Jaypee Cement at Zirakpur on the outskirts of Chandigarh along with Sachin Tendulkar,, spotted a Sikh religious symbol tattoo on her bare back on Wednesday.
This was the second time she is facing the wrath of the Sikhs, after she was warned by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2007 for walking the ramp with the same tattoo on.
"The tattoo of ‘Ekom Kar’ (God is one) in Gurmukhi. These are the first words of the holy Sikh scripture'' - the Granth Sahib.
Community leaders threatening to drag her to court for hurting religious sentiments if she did not have the tattoo removed immediately and has given her a two-month ultimatum to remove the tattoo.
Bedi said on Wednesday that she respected the religious sentiments of the Sikhs and that she had planned to undergo a plastic surgery to have it removed but could not find time.
Few years back model-cum-actress had generated controversy after giving her two pet dogs a Sikh name. At that time also she put a lid by saying that these dogs were her family members.
