IIFA awards 2010 (Bollywood Oscar)

The 11th Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) weekend concluded in Sri Lankan capital Colombo, “3 Idiots”, movie was year 2009 super duper hit big blockbuster movie and 3 idiots won IIFA awards in almost every category, bagging as many as seventeen trophies, including Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director. The film’s director Rajkumar Hirani and actors Kareena Kapoor and Sharman Joshi walked away with trophies. Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor award for his performance in Paa, but the superstar did attend the IIFA this year. Nor was to be seen his son Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai, both regular faces at IIFA every year.

However, it was Salman Khan who hogged attention. On the awards night itself, Salman made a grand entry on stage with a host of other Bollywood celebs including Zarine Khan, Govinda and Anil Kapoor. Hrithik Roshan were the highlights of the IIFA evening, as were a series of Oscar-style spoofs that hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani pulled off, poking fun at Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
